Northern red legged frog is a species of frog found in the United States and Canada. The species is mainly diurnal and solitary.

Size	Around 8 cm (3.1 in)
Color	Reddish-brown, brown, gray, or olive upper surface with small black spots; dark bands on the legs; lower abdomen and hind legs are red underneath with yellow underside; dark mask on the head with a stripe extending from the shoulder to the front of the upper jaw; creamy chest and throat marbled with dark gray; groin is mottled with yellowish-green and black
Distribution	Western Oregon, western Washington, California (United States), Canada
Habitat	Densely vegetated shoreline; aquatic habitat essential for breeding includes still waters of ponds, streams or marshes
Diet	Terrestrial insects, small snails, crustaceans, worms, tadpoles, small fish, small frogs of other species
